"The student tests out her developing citizenship skills in a community
setting through her involvement with an issue of personal/professional
concern."
Criteria
The student must:

Analyze an issue or concern

Describe background and context of the issue or concern

Identify specific aspects that can reasonably be addressed within time
frame
Analyze an organization

Identify a community organization with which to work on this issue

Identify the abilities required to function effectively within the organization

Develop a strategy for action to benefit the organization
Gather information

Gather pertinent, credible, reliable information that can be used to deal
with the issue/problem

Use the information to answer questions, develop options, educate specific
groups, or solve problems

Present information professionally
Use professional Judgment

Choose an effective, workable strategy that is appropriate for the organization,
the people involved, and the specific issue.

Develop and implement a plan to elicit the cooperation of others

Develop criteria for evaluating the effectiveness of the strategy/project/product

Evaluate the effectiveness of the strategy/project/product including direct
and indirect consequences.

Act professionally regarding commitments, deadlines, confidentiality, and
policies of the organization.
