What is a User Name?

Your Alverno Network User Name is used to log into the computers on campus, the Diagnostic Digital Portfolio (DDP), student email and Educator. User names No two students have the same User Name. Your User Name is typically the first 6 letters of your last name, followed by your first initial and middle initial (if you have one).

Your Interactive Online (IOL) User Name will be different and is usually your first name, middle initial and last name.

Student Name: Susan B. Anthony .............User Name : AnthonSB
IOL User Name: susanbanthony

This format might change if two students have the same last name and initials. You should remember your User Name, or keep it written down. You are responsible for remembering your User Name and password.

If you forget your network password, you can reset it from any computer with Internet access if Password Hints are on record.  Once the Hints are created, they will be used to identify the student and allow them to reset their password.  If you have not created Hints, you must bring your Alverno ID to the Computer Center to have your password changed.

Present your Alverno ID to a lab assistant who will have a professional Academic Computing staff member change it. Fees for password changes are:

• 1st change—no charge
• 2nd change—$5.00
• 3 or more changes—$10.00 per change.
