What are the Computer Center Policies?

The Computer Center Policies, posted by the main entrance to the Computer Center, outline who may use the Computer Center along with policies for printing, changing passwords, lab courtesy and software and copyright policies.

Printing Policy
Each registered student receives a 400-page printing balance at the beginning of each semester. Additional pages may be purchased at 10¢ per page (black & white)with a $5.00 minimum purchase. There will be no refunds or transfers of unused pages at the end the semester.

Only Computer Center paper may be used. Transparencies for the color laser printer are available for $1.00 each in the Computer Center.

Password Changes
If Alverno students forget their password, they can resent it from any computer with Internet access if Password Hints are recorded.

Once the Hints are created, they will be used to identify the student and allow them to reset their password.  If the student has not created Hints, they must bring their Alverno ID to the Computer Center to have their password changed.

The fees for password changes are:

• 1st change—no charge
• 2nd change—$5.00
• 3 or more changes—$10.00

Lab Courtesy Policies
Please help keep the computer labs a good working environment for all users:

• Food is not allowed in the Computer Center.
• Beverages are only allowed in closed, spill-proof containers. Containers such as open cups, soda cans and styrofoam cups with removable lids are not acceptable.
• Keep the lab clean and moderately quiet.
• Turn off cell phones or set them to vibrate. If you must take a call, please leave the lab to talk.
